| IDC is running slowly Question: My software appears to be running in a very slow and sluggish manner. Why is this? |
Answer: Do you also have UK (or Biscay) Tides installed? If so, are you displaying any of the tidal data on-screen? Due to the large amount of tidal computation, you may experience a slowing down of the software if you try any standard software operations with your tidal displays turned on. The rate of this slowing down will be very much dependant on the specifications of your computer. Try turning the tidal data off and the software should again run at normal speed. If this is the case, we would recommend that you only turn on tidal data displays as and when you need them. Incidentally, you do not need to have any tidal data displaying for it to be used in passage planning calculations. |
